In an effort to provide our readers with open and honest reviews, we decided to do a Q&A with Nicole and Sara Lentz to follow up on their experience after getting married at Whitney Peak Hotel! Read along as we dive into the juicy details of their Big Day and present day life as a married couple!
Q. 1: How did you two meet? Is there a proposal story??
We met one night in San Francisco and hit it off right away! We both happened to be from Reno which was an amazing thing to have in common. We were surprised that we had so many friends in common already. For the proposal, Sara set up a dinner with family and friends at Beaujolais Bistro in Reno. Nicole had no idea Sara was going to pop the question until she was down on one knee in front of the entire group! Of course, Nicole said “Yes!”
Q. 2: How did you select Whitney Peak Hotel as your wedding venue?
Although we live in San Francisco we wanted to come back to our hometown to get married. After some research and recommendations we decided to check out Whitney Peak. We knew we wanted to have a music themed wedding with a band playing in a concert venue for our reception, but we also wanted a somewhat traditional and upscale venue for our ceremony and dinner. Whitney Peak offered exactly what we wanted with TheThird Floor ballrooms and Cargo Concert Hall. We were able to get all of the entertaining space we needed without compromise. The venue decor and design went perfect with our wedding esthetic.
Q. 3: What was the most important factor to you when choosing a venue?
For us, the most important factor was the venue being in Reno so that family and friends could attend without major travel.
Q. 4: What would you say was the most memorable moment of the day?
Our most memorable moment of the day would have to be our first dance! We had the band Fleetwood Mask playing our first dance song “Songbird” live in Cargo Concert Hall and it was magical.

Q. 6: Describe your overall experience with the team at Whitney Peak Hotel.
The team of Whitney Peak Hotel made the experience easy and high-end from start to finish. They understood our vision and helped us pick out everything from the perfect linens, to a wedding package that was right, to arranging our room accommodations. Figuring out all of the details and throwing our dream wedding was effortless thanks to all of their hard work and dedication to making our day special!
Q. 7: Was the culinary experience to your satisfaction? Please explain.
The food was exactly what we wanted! We had plenty of options to choose from and we were able to accommodate all of our guests, even those with dietary preferences. We had a lot of compliments on the flavor of the food and the wide array of delicious choices. The appetizers during our cocktail hour were also a big hit!
Q. 8: Was your experience & expectations in line with the price?
The price was right on budget for us! The team at Whitney Peak really takes care of so many details from start to finish. The flow of everything really helped for everyone to just enjoy themselves and have fun, which is what it is all about! We would say the service far succeeds the price.
Q. 9: What advice do you have for those planning their wedding now?
Just remember to have fun with it and spend the day creating memories and taking in the experience! The day goes by fast, so don’t sweat the small stuff!
Q. 10: Any advice you’d give to another couple about marriage?
You’re a team and you can endure anything as long as you’re together. Don’t let the world ever divide you. True love is infinite!
