Hot August Nights 2026: Stay in Downtown Reno

Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Hot August Nights from Downtown Reno with walkable event access and secure parking at Whitney Peak Hotel.

Hot August Nights Turns 40 and Returns to Downtown Reno

Hot August Nights is coming home for its 40th anniversary.

From July 31 through August 9, the celebration of classic cars, cruising and rock ‘n’ roll returns its main host venue to Downtown Reno. That puts show-n-shines, nightly cruises, live music and thousands of meticulously maintained cars right outside Whitney Peak Hotel.

For anyone bringing a classic of their own, we have also made sure the car gets a proper place to stay.

Secure Parking for Your Classic

Whitney Peak has reserved a dedicated Hot August Nights floor inside our parking garage. The floor is exclusively available to fellow Hot August Nights visitors and participants, with 24-hour security throughout the event.

No searching for street parking. No leaving the car in an unfamiliar lot. Just a secure space inside the hotel garage, steps from your room and the center of the downtown celebration.

The Main Event Is Back Downtown

Beginning August 4, Downtown Reno will host five days of show-n-shines, vendors, entertainment and official Hot August Nights activities.

The schedule includes free nightly concerts, downtown cruises, the Event Series Finale and the Grand Finale Parade on August 9. The parade travels south along Virginia Street, beneath the Reno Arch and through the heart of downtown.

Whitney Peak places you close enough to walk out the front door and into the event, then return whenever you need a break from the crowds or the August heat.

More Than a Car Show

Hot August Nights has always been about more than what is parked along Virginia Street. The 40th-anniversary schedule includes drag racing, burnouts, cruising, collector-car auctions and free live entertainment across Reno and Sparks.

Downtown performances include Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, Tommy James & The Shondells and Blood, Sweat & Tears, plus tribute shows celebrating Elvis, Elton John and more.

Between events, guests can grab a meal at Café Whitney, climb at BaseCamp or simply head upstairs and reset before the evening cruise.

Park It. Lock It. Enjoy the Weekend.

Stay in the center of Hot August Nights without worrying about where your classic will spend the night.
